La Fuente del Cañon de Rio Lobos 

Environment´s information

Above all we need to indicate that, the Natural Park Canyon river Lobos is born downstream of the river Lobos and it finishes in the locality of Ucero, with its caves, rocky places, varied fauna and temple hermitage of San Bartolomé. The traveler can get closer to see the historical-artistic heritage and ethnographic of Rabanera del Pinar, Hontoria del Pinar and Aldea del Pinar. A little bit more to the East it is the village of San Leonardo de Yagüe with its castle, big houses, parish church, pine landscapes and old rituals such as “Mayo” and the dances with stick which are also developed in Navas and in the villages of Burgos. Navas limits with the village of Soria, Espejón, where the mármol is extracted, and a little bit further to the South is Espeja with its bridge. Towards to tohe Northeast you will arrive to Hacinas with its modern house-castle and its trunks and to Sala de los Infantes with its regional museum and of dinosaurs, its churches and legends.

Navas del Pinar

Small village from Burgos which borders with the province of Soria, it is surrounded by pine forests and with enviable natural environment, next to the canyon of the River Lobos. It has around 100 inhabitants registered, it is an ideal shelter for those who love to get out from the city, because once you come you will not want to get out… You can follow different routes, even by horse, or going up to the thousand meters high of the Peak of Navas where there is a cross of the beginning of the XX century and from where you can see wonderful panoramic views. The dance of Castillete with seven dancers and jesters area still alive, as well as other dances, like “Ninguna por ser Hermosa”. Its parish is from the middle of the XVIII century with reforms in the XVIII century and its bells ring with the echo of the mountain. In Navas del Pinar the winters are white and the twilights are ideal for the most romantic.
